Will Holograms Replace Hololens?
This article discusses the updates in the use of holograms for 3D displays by focusing light through frosted glass leads. In holography, a distorted wave front carries information to recreate a 3D image causing an illusion of a hologram to people standing in the path of the projected system. Researchers are hoping that holographic displays become commercial displays but they first need to overcome obstacles dealing with the relationship between pixel numbers and image resolution and the sensitivity holographic displays have to changes in the environment, including temperature. Researchers are still currently working on both holograms and holographic displays.
